August 12, 2011: 2/3rds of Liam's 3rd!

This year Liam is having 3 birthday parties! It wasn't really intentional...one party at school, one party with playgroup, and one with family. But of course he quickly made the assumption that because he was turning 3 he got 3 parties :) That's going to be hard to keep up in future years but I guess this year it works.

His school party was on Thursday. It was so sweet. His teacher, Ms. Berta, made him feel very special that morning.

I was invited to talk to the class about Liam, telling them about him and his favorite food, toy and color (tortellini, cars, green).
Then she asked him the same questions. He said tortellini, Legos, green. Legos?! He later told me that Legos and cars tied for his favorite :)
Then his classmates were quizzed on Liam and what I had just told them. Here is Liam's best buddy Harrison.
Liam walked around the circle while they all sang happy birthday. (side note-he LOVES circle time and always tells me this was his favorite part of the day!)

Liam is so lucky to have such wonderful school friends and such an amazing teacher. He was talking about his cupcakes and his special circle time that whole night!
Today was Liam's playgroup party at our house! I have been up to 1am most nights this week getting everything ready. Although Liam's still 'banged up' as he says...
the birthday must go on! I had spent all week preparing to give Liam the Cars/Dinosaur birthday that he wished for. Here are some pics of all the cake and decorations...and yes it was all DIY by me:)

And being the only other girl, Addison and Bryn had to stick together :)
Liam had so much fun with Davey, Michael and Addison today! They made his party so special, as they all played so well together. It is hard to have an August birthday, even at this age. Almost all our other friends were out of town and we missed them today.

And dinosaur chicken nuggets, Cars pretzels, Cars fruitsnacks, and Cars marshmallows...
And of course he loved his Lightening McQueen cake and dinosaur candles! In fact he loved those candles so much that it wasn't until a little later we realized the T-Rex candle was missing a head and tail...he told me he thought they were candy!!
After a yummy lunch, we headed upstairs to play in the playroom. The boys started a rock band and I think Bryn was their biggest fan :)
We are so blessed to have so many wonderful friends who love Liam and made his birthday so special already! We have family coming in town tonight and Liam's 3rd party tomorrow...will post about that one too!
