September 22, 2008: 5 weeks old!

Another fun week with Liam! Here's some things we've been up to...

Manchester United game! We went to the Jotas to watch the game. Of course Liam and Nick had on their jerseys...

Liam is so happy, especially now that he is getting out more. We joke that he gets bored at our house all day, but sometimes I think it's true! He just loves getting out and hearing new sounds and seeing new things. He gets so quiet and wide-eyed, I just know he's taking it all in. We'll be sure to keep the adventures coming so he doesn't get tired of us :) He's becoming so interactive with us too. Tonight when Nick walked in, he gave him the biggest smile!! We were both so excited because we think this is the first smile that probably wasn't due to gas :) A real smile for his daddy, so sweet.

September 17, 2008: Liam is one month old!

It has been a busy and exciting month with Liam in our life! Our world has completely changed and now I can't imagine it any other way. Liam is now 8lbs 13oz. and 21 inches long. He's at the 25th% for weight and 30th% for height...he's such a peanut! Nick and I celebrated Liam's mini birthday at Baskin Robbins...Liam obviously didn't get any ice cream, but did enjoy riding in the car. I just have one picture from his birthday night with mommy and daddy that sums up our first month. The love of our lives....

September 12-16, 2008: Aunt Rachy visits...and has a surprise!

My sister Rachel visited Liam this past weekend. We had fun and she got plenty of time to love on him and get to know his cute personality. I have already told some of you, but Rachy had some big news...she's pregnant with Liam's cousin!! She's 8 1/2 weeks and we are so excited for her and Cameron. Nick and I call this baby Cuatro, because if it's a boy it will be the fourth David Cameron Smith. Even though it might be a girl, we still like Cuatro. Rachy and Cameron are calling the baby Double Down. They also started a blog and I will link ours so you can also follow their growing family. So Rachy really got some good practice with Liam while she was here. I also took her to my favorite pregnancy spots...the Pump Station, maternity clothes shopping, and for ice cream! Okay she said no to ice cream, but I did get her to TCBY...and caught it on camera of course :) I have posted some pics of the visit and other things Liam is up to. Liam has also been working on his tummy time and does so well holding his head up. And I finally got him off that hospital pacifier...now he is taking a normal looking one.

September 10, 2008: Liam is going to school!

Okay it's actually a 'child development center'...but it will be his first school and he starts in November. We are so excited that we got him into a great facility in Santa Monica. I know most of you have heard me stress about getting into daycare out here...most places have a 1 year waiting list!! We were so lucky to get a spot at one of our favorite places...it's close to home and they just have a really great philosophy for the kids. We went for our tour and interview today. I know Liam impressed them, even though he slept through it :) I have included some pics from the week including his outfit he wore today to school...the plaid overalls! I also have a pic from bathtime, one of his hair which is looking much lighter, and one of him stretched out so you can see how long he's getting. Unfortunately his baby acne has also started this week. If you don't know, it's totally normal for babies to break out around a month old. Poor thing looks like a high school freshman. It will go away soon...hopefully before his next date with Eloise :)

September 7, 2008: 3 weeks old!

Another great week with Liam! Well he has started getting a little more fussy, mostly in the evening before bed. It's hard for Nick because during the week this is the only time he has with him. But he's still doing so great with Liam, taking him on walks which seems to be the only thing that calms him down sometimes. Our little boy would live outside if he could! His eyes get so big on our walks and he just takes in all the sounds. Liam had a lunch date with Eloise and her mommy this week and was so well behaved. While Eloise cried and the mommies talked, Liam just tuned us all out and slept...he's such a boy. He also met Carrie, Mike, Perla and Uncle Chaddy on Friday night where he was not so well behaved. Hey, we all have bad nights. Last night, he went to a bbq at the girls' house and was such an angel. He slept in Jamie's arms the whole time and was super cute in his little track suit! I posted the pic of his outfit before we left. I also posted some of my other favorites including bath time, him in the stroller, in the swing and just looking so sweet as he sleeps. Oh and of course I had to include his little tantrum while wearing his moster shirt...very fitting. His hair is changing every day and while it's definitely getting lighter, it's also looking a little auburn in the sunlight. We'll see what it turns out to be...

September 3, 2008: First Mohawk!

It's a little short, but he's still rocking the mohawk. Hey, he's a cali kid so this probably won't be his last... :)

September 2, 2008: Blue Steel!

I just had to post this picture. It's one of Liam's favorite faces to make and Nick and I always joke it's just like Zoolander's "blue steel". Okay back to play time with my little guy.

August 31, 2008: 2 weeks old!

He's just growing so fast. We had a good week with Mal still here and Nick working half days. But Mal went home Sunday morning and Nick goes back to work tomorrow, so Liam and I will get some full time bonding. Liam went on his first date! Her name is Eloise and she's 3 days younger. Here mom and I met at a Mommy and Me group and met for a 'playdate' at the park. At this age though they both just slept in their strollers while we chatted. It's still nice to be making some mommy friends. Liam also took his first bottle from daddy. He's such a good sleeper. We usually get a good 3 hour nap during the day and at night he sleeps 3-4 hour periods (well until 6am which is usually when he wakes up for good!) I'm so not a morning person, and this is still a hard adjustment for me. But we usually both lay back down by 9am, so that helps. These are some of my favorite pics from this week. He has so many funny expressions, I wish I could capture them all.
