October 31, 2014: Halloween!

We had another fun Halloween, this year as the Power Rangers family!  Liam and Bryn started this, and we followed suit.  Even grandma was into it :)
We started trick-or-treating in downtown McKinney which is a great tradition.  The kids were so excited this year...
This was Nora's first year to trick-or-treat as a big kid...even though she couldn't eat anything she got :)
Liam and Bryn love spending this holiday with Jackson and Brenna, this is our 5th year together at Scare on the Square!

After dinner at the square, Liam and Bryn came home to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood with friends.  Nora went to bed while I passed out candy.  The kids picked their (1!) favorite piece of candy to eat before bed, and the rest we gave away.  Wonder how much longer I'll be able to get away with that :) Go go Power Rangers!

October 27, 2013: School Days

Liam has been having a great time at school, but this was a particularly good week.  First Liam was named the Star Student of the week!
Then during the red ribbon week (say no to drugs) presentation, Liam got chosen to do a nunchuck demonstration on stage...he loved it!
He had a great week as the star student and had many guests for lunch including Bryn, Nora and I, Nick, Mallie, Dallie, Grandma and Grandpa.

But being a star student isn't all fun...it's a lot of work too we learned!  First we made our poster...Liam wanted a picture of him in every (13) state he had visited.
He also listed everything he loves including traveling, shrimp, hissing cockroaches, the color turquoise, soccer, climbing, his family and spiderman...and that he wants to be an explorer when he grows up :)
He writes in a journal every day, sometimes with prompted subjects, sometimes random.  Here was one of our favorite entries.  First I love that he changed "my ouchy" to "my couch" on his own :)  But we also love that he wrote about getting hurt playing goalie, and in his picture description of it he wrote "I have blood" above him laying on the ground and wrote "Shake it off" coming from Nick's mouth.  Now Nick does (lovingly) say that when they have minor booboos, but Liam's also a big Taylor Swift fan right now, so hard to tell who his inspiration was!
The other part of being star student is that you get to take home the class pet, Louie, over the weekend (and then print more pictures to post in the class scrapbook about your adventures).  Liam took Louie everywhere...
 including trick-or-treating...
 passing out candy...
to watch him play soccer...
 help with his homework...
and even to the cowboys game with Daddy and Dallie!!  Louie was a lucky guy that weekend :)

Liam isn't the only one doing awesome at school.  The girls are both doing wonderful in their classrooms and we do lots of learning at home too...
And I found out that all my schooling had paid off when I got my letter informing me I passed my lactation exam!!
Mallie and I celebrating my new certification over sushi :)

October 18-25, 2014: Georgetown, Twins' Birthday, and Houston

We had two quick road trips in October.  First we drove to Georgetown for Nick's cousin Derek's wedding.   Getting on the road (pic by Bryn)...
Nora getting ready in the motel sink...
 The beautiful outdoor venue...
Playing around with Pops at the reception...
 Best family pic...
Next morning breakfast on the way back to Dallas...
The next weekend, we had a great adult night out for Alex and Amelia's birthday on Friday.
The next morning we packed up for a quick trip to Houston for our annual pumpkin painting.

Yes it turned out to be a girls' road trip because Liam had strep.  Despite what the picture looks like, both girls did awesome on the drive!
And Liam got a treat off the ice cream truck from daddy for his sore throat :)
Pumpkin painting with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Steph and Mayce, Ryan, Christy, Ryanne and Katilin.

Can you tell we are making a ninja turtle for Liam? :)

After decorating pumpkins we had a dance party in the yard with Bryn's favorite songs including "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift :)

We even got in some trunk-or-treating later that night which both girls loved!
