Bryn's latest obsession is "bumby rabbis" (bunny rabbits). Dallie used to take Liam hunting for bunny rabbits around the pool when we lived there, and he's now started the tradition of finding them with Bryn. She drags everyone over to the window to look out in the back yard with her. And sadly (for our yard) she usually spots her beloved furry friends :)

We pulled out the sprinkler for splashing fun for the kids (and daddy)...sorry the exposures in these got all messed up, oh well...
Playgroup was at the splash park last week and the kids had a great time with their friends. I didn't snap them in the water, but got them having a snack with Davey afterwards...
Last week was parent-teacher conferences at the kids' school. Nick took off work, so we could both attend the meetings. Bryn came to school with us, but Liam stayed with Mal and learned another new board game.
The next day the whole family went back to the school for the open house. Bryn is getting ready to transfer from the infant to the toddler room. I am so excited for her, but nervous. It's alot more (older) kids and a new big kid routine, including sleeping in a cot. She will get to move up with her pal (who she calls Dodo) so that should be helpful. I met her new teachers and watched her excitedly start to explore her new room.
Liam was so excited to show off his classroom to all of us, including Grandma who was in town. His favorite area is the object box, which is small objects all starting with different letters that they can manipulate. He also loves the seashell collection that he looks at with a magnifying glass.
And he loves all the sets of blocks, beads, and rods they use for spatial skills and math...he is also very meticulous in rolling the mat they have to put down for their tasks :)
Liam's teachers were so complimentary. It was wonderful to hear them tell us how they often ask him to help his classmates, which he does willingly. They said he is friends with all the children and plays well with everyone. We get his worksheets home every week, and during our meeting they gave us some of his best ones. We read his book on the metamorphosis of a butterfly that he colored and explained to us, a sheet on the parts of a flower, and his counting and writing sheets. The writing sheets are my favorite. I am so excited for him to start writing and reading on his own, as I think he's going to love it as much as I do. Here is one of his handwriting worksheets...
It's soccer season again!! Nick is coaching again with Addison's dad, Sean. Nick had the first practice of the season which Liam was very excited about...
I don't think Nick realized he had another player sneaking in the practice :) She's definitely a little left-footer like her daddy though!
Team TNT is back on the field and their first game was this weekend. Nick was out of town, visiting his uncles and going to a techno rave (he can explain that one to the kids someday, haha). Anyway, Liam was so pumped to wear his new cleats and did an awesome job. No goals yet, but we are getting better at staying with the ball...

We ended the night with a nice bike ride/step 2 ride around the neighborhood. We've been doing this a few times a week after dinner and the kids really enjoy it. Bryn starts screaming for "beep beep" which is what she call the step 2...and she literally does lay on the horn throughout the entire walk, I can't believe the batteries still work :) Liam is getting so fast on his bike, he's almost too fast for me to walk/jog next to...
And of course we ended the weekend with more water play and soccer outside...guess these two activities kind of sum up our life this season!
Obviously we are so busy playing, mommy's highlights are looking pretty desperate. Oh well, love my little outdoor kiddos :)
