Sometimes labors of love are financial...like an investment in our house including painting, bedding, decorations...
We finally got a king size bed and new bedding as our Christmas gift to each other. I love our new room although I'm still working on a headboard and some decorations.
New bathroom paint and decorations...and Liam using his camera, following me around :)
Updated office...although my post-editing and improper white balance make it look mint green...it's really more of a soft sage, oh well...Sometimes labors of love are just giving in...letting your toddler make a huge mess because she demands to feed herself and eat with two spoons every meal, including her tomato soup and grilled cheese. Sure it takes her longer and creates more dishes and clean-up afterwards...but could I really miss these pictures??
Sometimes labors of love are emotional and spiritual...using supportive care, medicine when needed, and prayers that your kids will just get better...
And sometimes labors of love are all of the above...plus very physical! Pops gifted Liam and Bryn with a playset (or park as Liam calls it) for Christmas this year. He and Nana came up this weekend to put it together with Nick...
Still just a shell...Hmm...already taking a lunch break!
Second level going up...
Linds and JE helping distract the kids...
The park is coming along...
Windows and walls going in...
Keeping the kids busy...
The roof going up...
Pops and Nana worked the whole time they were here and Liam was so excited with the progress. It was a great visit and we managed to fit in some Uno and Chutes & Ladders too!
First thing today, the kids were out to check it out again. Bryn enjoys the 1st floor of the park...
while Liam enjoys the 'fort' upstairs!
A picnic table and seat, perfect for lots of meals outdoors...
They love having a view of the neighborhood...
Liam is already planning his first camp-out in the fort with daddy...
This afternoon Nick kept going to finish the playset and Dallie came over to help...
I could not keep the kids indoors, especially on such a nice weekend. Bryn loves going 'out' as she says when she stands at the door...and she loves playing 'ball'. Right now that includes every kind!
The kids could not wait to get on the swings once they were done! Only the slide is left to complete, but they have so much to play with, I don't think they really notice yet...
And Liam was very excited about his new glider...Batman loves the glider he said :)
Her big girl swing...
was a BIG hit!
We ended the weekend grilling/eating outdoors...
although someone chose to eat another meal in his park...
we did finally get him off it and inside to bed, but I love that he is so excited about it. I know they will both spend a lot of time out here in the years to come. Special thanks to Pops, Nana, Linds, JE, Dallie and DADDY who worked so hard with this biggest labor of love!!
