February 2014: Activities!

I don't think I've ever been this far behind in blogging.  Back to catching up!  The rest of February was pretty busy with our normal routine...

Ballet...
 Piano...
Daddy's soccer league...
Liam's soccer league...
Watching the winter Olympics...Liam was obsessed.  He made USA flags, cheered for our team in every sport, and pretended to he was racing in the skeleton in our front hallway :)
Lots of games...Liam and I play chess sometimes when the girls nap.  It's a pretty even match (good for him/sad for mommy)
Liam and Bryn learning hi-lo with the boys...
A cute paper that Liam wrote at school about his favorite states...
Liam's 2nd science fair at school!  This year we proved diffusion and immiscible with water, oil, and food coloring...

 So proud of you Liam!
 Liam and best buddy Laksh...
Liam did a great job explaining his project to everyone...
Mallie, Dallie, Daniel and Meha all came by...

Liam's friend Avishree...
Even Nora enjoyed the day of science!
One of my favorite events this month was the mother-son dance Liam and I went to.  It was a western theme and we had so much fun!!
First we went to Logan's Roadhouse then onto the dance with our friends Jackson (Alison), James (Kristy), and Michael (Lori)...
The boys had a blast together!
But I don't think anyone danced as much as Liam and I!  He loved dancing to Thriller, Gangham Style, Cotton-Eyed Joe, the Macarena, and the Chicken Dance...

I know dancing with your mom will not be cool for long, but hopefully he'll be up for this for a few more years.  I will always remember this night and am so glad Liam enjoyed it as much as I did!

February 21, 2014: Nora at 9 months!

Nora in three words is "funnest. baby. ever." according to Liam and Bryn.  Although I have to agree :)  She is so smiley and so silly.  Although she still has her serious moments...
She loves: eating (finally!), loves blowing raspberries, rolling around (finally!), music, dancing with her daddy, throwing diaper bombs with mommy, playing with her toys on the rug, angry jumping in her horsey bouncer, scooting around (no crawling yet), and strolling around the neighborhood.
Nora does 'so big', claps for herself, does a little hand wave, blows kisses (well she puts her hand to her mouth), says mama and dada, and plays peek-a-boo by putting her head down then popping back up.  She's still got the beautiful blue eyes and straight brown hair and still favors my baby pictures.  Although Bryn still calls her Peepers or Snora, Liam has nicknamed her bootstang...don't ask, I don't know where this gibberish came from but she lights up when he sings it to her over and over ;)  She still eats her socks off her feet and that is one reason I welcome warm weather as I'm tired of wet socks!

She's a peanut now at only 17 lbs 5 oz (22%), 27 1/4 inches (38%), and head circumference 17 1/4 inches (44%), although she's still got some good rolls.  She's still a slooooow eater, but is loving everything we put in front of her including meatballs, homemade pizza, twice baked potatoes, puffs, pancakes, shredded cheese, chick fil a french fries (3rd child!), hard boiled egg yolks, turkey, and yogurt just to name a few!  Of course she still eats her baby food of fruits and veggies, although because we found out she's anemic we are really pushing the meat and iron rich food (and giving her iron supplements-blegh!)

So Nora has no interest in crawling...but she does really want to walk.  She is trying to pull up to stand on everything and does a little Frankenstein walk while holding on to our hands.  She might be our first to go straight to walking!
She is getting a little more feisty and has learned the art of the tantrum...especially when you take away her phone.

One of my favorite Nora-isms is how she sleeps.  Now that she finally sleeps though the night (at least 60% of the time), she gets herself real comfy with arms behind her head...no matter where she's sleeping.  Basically she sleeps like a pimp :)

Nora, you are the most fun baby!  We love seeing the world through your eyes and we all enjoy getting to share new experiences with you (like 'driving' mommy's new car).   Love my littlest girl!

February 14, 2014: Valentine's Day!

Oops, it's been a while...But better late than never, I'm going to try to catch up the last 6 weeks!  We had a fun little Valentine's Day weekend this year.  The kids loved admiring all their festive work I hung up...
We met our playgroup for a fun lunch, friendship trail mix, and carousel ride at the mall...

Who sleeps through the carrousel ride?!
Love our little buddies...Mia, Jackson, Liam, Bryn, Emma Kate, and Cate
LOVE my play days with the kids!!
On our way out, we saw a little puppy adoption booth.  The kids went crazy!  Liam picked out this pup however he knows our agreement on when he can get a dog.
But I almost broke down for Bryn.  She was so excited to see the poodle: "Look, he has curly hair like me!"
After the mall, we drove through the neighborhood delivering valentines to our friends...
The kids also picked up their valentines boxes from school, full of sweet cards and treats!
 After naps, we played outside...
And then the kids had a romantic dinner by candlelight, while Nick and I got to have a sushi date night of our own.
The next night, we took them for a special treat...Steak N Shake for dinner...

Where Liam "took down" as he would say, 2 kids meals!
