A precious 18 month old girl, as of yesterday...
Full of smiles, laughter and too many words. A happy toddler who falls asleep seconds after we rock and lay her down in her bed...and sleeps 12 hours overnight. She loves mommy to sing "Playmate" and daddy to sing "Rock a Bye"/"Take Me Out to the Ball Game" before going to bed. She does get to have her pipe (paci) in her crib for overnight, but has to leave it in her crib during the day. Still naps 2 hours every day. Eats everything, but favorites are "yo-yo" (yogurt), applesauce, rice, grapes, strawberries, banana, corn on the cob (interesting with 6 teeth!), broccoli, green beans, carrots, and all meats. Her favorite books are "Elmo So Big", a Santa book that says 'ho ho ho' at the end, any open-flap book by Susan Katz, any touch-feel "You're Not My..." book, and Los Colores. Her favorite animal is her bunnies from the back yard, but if you ask her what any animal says she always answers 'ribbit' first. She loves story time at the library, pushing cars down the ramp (she's quickly learned the characters from Cars movies too), playing chef in her kitchen, playing with her Little People, Mr. Potato Head, and doing anything Liam is doing!
Still smiling even though she has a double ear infection right now. However, the bright side is that we caught it early thanks to Bryn. She woke up this weekend feeling warm to touch and fussy. When I asked her what was wrong she pointed and said "hurt ears". Took out my otoscope to check and she was right. Yay, verbal skills! Otherwise though, she's doing great on her 18 mo stats, weight: 21 lbs 11 oz (14th %), height: 31 3/4 in (54th %), and head cir: 18 3/4 in (79th%). Developmentally she's excelling, but we already knew that :)
Actually Liam took this picture (and the one above!) but I love it cause it's one of my favorite features, her beautiful curls :)She enjoys playgroup as much as her brother....
especially now that she's got her own little group of girlfriends :)
She might be littler and younger, but she has quickly learned how to fight back...
They might look alike, but she's becoming so feminine as she gets older...
She's an outdoor girl...who begs to play outside on the playset or at the water table, and halfway through dinner is saying "beep beep" which means she's ready for her nightly stroll in Step 2 :)
A girl who has less fear than her brother even at this age. I turn around for 30 seconds and find her up the ladder and in the playhouse fort with no assistance...
A true daddy's girl...
A baby no more, as she is now playing 'mommy' to her baby dolls...baby Shanti, baby Kewpie, Mami doll and baby Dodo...she named them as you can tell :)
Baby Shanti is the favorite right now...
A girl with 6 whole teeth that need cleaning...
The gum massage can't hurt, as we have many teeth to go!
So proud to be mommy to this sweet girl. I love sharing my make-up brushes and picking out her bow for the day together...look forward to so many more years of bonding. Love you too much Brynnie!
